Thoughts On The Next Blazblue

Toshimichi Mori sat down with Siliconera to discuss his idea for the next installment of Blazblue. With the game surpassing 30 characters Mori is thinking of team combat. We have heard of this with Capcom Marvel vs Capcom and Snkplaymore King Of Fighters but this is the firs time we are hearing it with Blazblue. “In Capcom vs. SNK 2 players choose characters and they come out in a certain order compared to Tekken Tag Tournament which has characters switching in real time. If you consider the PlayStation 4 system, both of these are possible. Those are the two directions I’m considering, what do you think of this? The flashiness might need to be cutdown if we implement this though.” Mori gives this some real thought saying that with the power of the PS4 real switch between characters may be possible. The thing is that the down side is that the style of the game may have to be toned down for it to work. Mori does confirm that the next Blazbule for 2016 will conclude the current story which is about 25 % left to be told. “”I am planning to have the next story sometime next year and the next game will have the last 25% of the story” By the way Mori does touch on a Blazbue vs Guilty Gear game but as he knows their is demand. The problem is that he doesn’t know how long it will take. “”I know the fans want to see a crossover with Guilty Gear but I don’t know how long that will take. If we are going to do it, we want to do it right. Ask Ishiwatari about this later,”
